Using Ensemble/Moodle Plugin: Videos & Playlists

From within your course in Moodle, Turn editing on and click the +Add and activity or resource link, select Page, and click the Add button at the bottom. Fill in a Name. In the Page content area, click the Moodle Media icon.

Click the Browse repositories… button.

Select either Ensemble Playlists or Ensemble Videos from the list on the left.

Search for the playlist or video you want from your library, click on the green plus button.

Click the Save button.

Click the Select this file button.

Click the Insert Media button.

To finish, click the Save and return to course button at the bottom.

NOTE: Anytime you are in a text editing window that has a Moodle Media icon, you can insert from Ensemble.

Using a Permalink or Embed Code

Video – using a permalink

For any Published video in your Media Library you can copy the permalink and share it in Moodle, a document, or email. Log into your Ensemble account. Click the Permalink icon located below the video you are working with.

Click Advanced Settings and check mark any additional settings that apply, then highlight the link and copy it by either using ctrl+c or right clicking and selecting Copy.

To link your video in Moodle, go to your course and Turn editing on, and in the topic area where you would like to link the video, click Add an activity or resource, select URL and click Add. Enter a Name, then scroll down to External URL, paste your link in the box provided. You can use ctrl+v or right click on the box and select Paste.

To finish, scroll down and click on Save and return to course.

Video – using an embed code

For any Published video in your Media Library you can copy an embed code and share it in Moodle. Log into your Ensemble account. Click the Embed icon located below the video you are working with.

Click Advanced Settings and check mark any additional settings that apply, then highlight the embed code and copy it either by using ctrl+c or right clicking and selecting Copy.

To embed in Moodle, go to your course and Turn editing on and in the topic area where you would like to place the video, click Add an activity or resource, select Page and click Add. Enter a Name. Scroll down to the Page content box and click on the Show more buttons icon (first icon).

Click the very last icon, the HTML <> icon and paste the embed code in the area provided by using ctrl+v or right click and select Paste.

Click the HTML <> icon again to change out of that mode. To finish, scroll down and click on Save and return to course.

Playlist – using a permalink

Log into your Ensemble account. Click Playlists from the menu on the left. For the playlist you would like a link for, click the Permalink button.

Click Advanced Settings and check mark any additional settings that apply, then highlight the link and copy it by either using ctrl+c or right clicking and selecting Copy.

To link your playlist in Moodle, go to your course and Turn editing on. In the topic area where you would like to link the playlist, click Add an activity or resource, select URL and click Add. Enter a Name, then scroll down to External URL, paste your link in the box provided. You can use ctrl+v or right click on the box and select Paste.

To finish, scroll down and click on Save and return to course.

Playlist – using an embed code

Log into your Ensemble account. Click Playlists from the menu on the left. Under the playlist you want to embed, click Embed Playlist.

To embed the default format for a playlist, use the code at the top of the page, to customize, scroll down and make your selections and then use the code at the very bottom. Highlight the embed code and copy it either by using ctrl+c or right clicking and selecting Copy. To embed in Moodle, go to your course and Turn editing on. In the topic area where you would like to place the playlist, click Add an activity or resource, and select Page and click Add. Enter a Name. Scroll down to the Page content box and click on the Show more buttons icon (first icon).

Click the very last icon, the HTML <> icon and paste the embed code in the area provided by using ctrl+v or right click and select Paste.

Click the HTML <> icon again to exit that mode. To finish, scroll down and click on Save and return to course.
