Moodle Feedback Activity

Feedback allows instructors to create a survey with various types of questions (multiple choice, short-answer, long-answer, and numerical).

Creating a Feedback Activity

Step 1: From within your course in Moodle, toggle Edit mode to ON, then at the bottom of the topic area where you’d like to add a Feedback activity, click Add an activity or resource:

Null

Step 2: Select Feedback from the pop-up and click the Add button:

Null

Step 3: Fill out your desired information in the Name and Description (optional) boxes and make adjustments to availability dates (if desired).

Step 4: Under Question and submission settings, use the Record user names drop down menu to have feedback remain anonymous or show students names with their answers, choose if you would like to Allow multiple submissions, and if you would like to Enable notification of submissions (meaning you’d be emailed when students complete the activity), and if you want to Auto number questions:

Null

Step 5: Under After submission settings, use the Show analysis page drop down menu to select if you would like students to see an analysis after they submit their input, and/or type in any message you would like to give them upon completion in the Completion message text box:

Null

Step 7: When finished, click the Save and display button at the bottom to move onto adding questions to your feedback activity.

Adding Questions

Step 1: Click on the Feedback activity title to open it, and then click the Edit questions button:

Null

Step 2: On the next page, click the Add question dropdown in you plan to import a question or use a template (not common). To create a new question, click the Choose dropdown and select what type of question you would like to add:

Null

Step 3: On the next page, check whether the question is Required for them to answer, and then type in the Question in the textbox provided. Depending on the question type selected, the steps to complete question creation will be different. Work through these requirements and then click the Save question button at the bottom. Contact Ed Tech if you need assistance with specific question types.

Step 4: Continue adding the questions you would like for the activity. Once you have all your questions entered, the Feedback activity is ready.
