Phew! Just a few more days and we’ll be seeing this academic year in the rearview mirror. Enjoy that for a minute. Done? Good! Here’s what’s up ahead from CIE!

PD request form for FY 25

Here’s the link to the new PD form. If you’re eligible, use it to put in requests for conferences between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. As previously announced, we are limiting PD conference funding to faculty who did not attend a conference in the current fiscal year that ends June 30. There are a few exceptions, as explained on the form. Please email me with questions.

August Conference PD

Neurodiversity is the theme for our afternoon PD programming on Aug. 20. Amy Rutherford, a consultant from the College Autism Network, will be our presenter and workshop leader. Here’s Amy’s bio. As you can see, she is a program leader at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga with experience in all areas of neurodiversity and mental health training. We’re really excited about this program! Also, the workshop can count as a DEIB goal. You’ll need one of those for next year.

AI and more AI!

Our September 6 Friday Forum will be devoted to strategies for adapting to our new AI world, with follow-up workshops throughout the fall. But you’ll hear from us well before that with resources and tips. And we’re happy to chat on this topic over the summer, so let us know how we can help as you plan your curriculum. Take a look at the Center for Teaching and Learning AI web page to get started.
