Trying to make STEM content accessible can be a challenge, especially when it comes to complicated graphs, charts, diagrams, etc. Arizona State University has created a great tool to help with just that. You can upload your image (even if it is hand drawn) and ask it to “Create Image Details” and it will produce a long description for you and many times a short summary to be used for alt text.
If you have a long description for your image, you can paste that into a Google Doc and then provide a link below the image for any student needing the text description. You can label the link as, “Text description of (name of diagram)”.
Give the tool a try, it works really well: ASU EdPlus Image Accessibility Creator.
