If you’ve been on the NeoEd platform to complete training or annual review material, you may have noticed the invitation to access the PDI Learn Catalog. The catalog includes locally produced training videos, but also has free courses from a company called Innovative Educators: Go2Knowledge.
Go2Knowledge has live stream courses as well as on-demand offerings, such as “Building An Online Community of Learners: Mindset, Content & Strategies.” All courses are specific to higher ed and cover a variety of topics, including advising, belonging, orientation, mental health challenges, coaching, and more.
The Go2Knowledge courses that I checked out were powerpoints with voice-overs. I clicked into a couple of courses that gave general information, but I clicked out because I was familiar with the topics and the big picture overviews weren’t helpful.
However, the platform has other courses that are more targeted. I listened to a recorded webinar called “Instructor’s Toolkit – Leveraging Generative AI for Student Self-Assessment and Personalized Learning” by a college instructor who uses AI in her psychology courses. The instructor’s specific examples and suggestions, based on her own practice, were thoughtful and useful. I appreciated her perspective.
To get to these courses, go to NeoEd, then Access the PDI Learning Catalog. Scroll through the courses until you find Go2Knowledge. Click on Go to Course. You need to sign up and create a password. Then you’re in. It’s worth checking out.
