With the introduction of the DEIB Learning Goal for faculty and staff, you may be looking for resources to serve as a path to new learning or to take you deeper into an area you already know a bit about. With this in mind, the library has developed a tool to help you find what you need.

DEIB Resources for NMC includes introductory readings, books in a variety of formats, podcasts and films. This tool provides resources to learn about the lasting legacies of racism, from its historical roots to implications for the present and future. It also addresses equity and inclusion as they relate to gender, neurodiversity, disability, economic class and sexuality. New resources, formats and focus areas will be added throughout the year.

Within the resource guide you will find the DEIB Audio & E-book collection, linking you directly to books in Libby for you to download to your personal device. If you need help downloading and setting up the Libby app, please contact an NMC librarian.

NOTE: Copies of Understanding Jim Crow, the book associated with the Nov. 1 DEIB field trip to the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Imagery at Ferris State, are available for staff from Lori Hodak in H.R. Books for faculty were distributed at the August Conference.

The NMC library has the book in print and on an e-book copies.
