To help all of us meet the new requirements of Title II and the ADA (that all digital content in our courses be ADA compliant by April of 2026), we’ve created a new, comprehensive set of accessibility resources.
First, we’ve launched the Accessible Course Design webpage, a resource-rich hub with updated documentation and tutorials. This page is designed to help you make your courses and course content more accessible.
We also developed Accessibility Fundamentals, a new self-paced Canvas course. This course is designed to help you learn and apply accessibility best practices so your course content meets the latest WCAG 2.1 Accessibility Standards.
Finally, get ready for “Sherry Fest!” This fall and spring, we’ll be hosting a fun Accessibility Challenge named after our very own accessibility guru, Sherry Trier. Each week, we’ll explore a new accessibility concept and challenge you to apply it to your courses. Look for more details about “Sherry Fest” in the coming weeks!
You can find all of these new resources on the Center for Teaching & Learning website under the “Teaching Practices” tab.
