New Faculty Institute Orientation
The Center for Instructional Excellence, our faculty-run professional development organization, is holding an orientation for new full-time and adjunct faculty on August 12 from 9-3 and August 13 from 9-noon. We will go over logistical information for teaching at the college and some basic teaching tips.
The orientation is the kick-off for the 2026-27 New Faculty Institute, which meets once a month to introduce you to college leaders, discuss pedagogy, and answer logistical questions. We keep the meetings informal, with plenty of time for you to build connections with faculty from across the college.
New full-time faculty are required to attend New Faculty Institute Orientation and the monthly meetings. Adjunct instructors are not required to attend, but we encourage you to join us as often as you can. We pay adjuncts a $25/hour stipend and provide food, drink, and good conversation! Contact CIE director Janet Lively if you have questions. I look forward to meeting you soon!
