January PD was hot — literally — but our presenters on alternative grading and language-based learning disabilities were super cool! Here are their resources in case you missed them:
- “Supporting College Students with Dyslexia and Language-Based Learning Disabilities” with Drs. Lauren A. Katz and Joanne M. Pierson of the Literacy, Language, and Learning Institute in Ann Arbor.
- Grading for Growth Resource Page from Dr. Robert Talbert, math professor at Grand Valley State University and co-author of the book Grading for Growth.
- “How AI is changing my grading approach — for now” is the most recent blog post in Dr. Talbert’s Grading for Growth blog post.
Sorry about the overheated rooms in Scholars Hall. Logistics were a challenge for this event. We did not intentionally change the timing of the event, which has traditionally followed opening conference. This year it followed area meetings for many faculty. Did that work better? Contact me with your thoughts!
