Medical Emergency TrainingSomeone in your classroom or office collapses. You call 911, but help is a few minutes away and the person isn’t breathing. What do you do?

Learn the answer at this week’s Friday Forum. Betsy Boris, the Director of Nursing and Allied Health, will lead a hands-on workshop on the steps that everyone can take in response to a medical emergency on campus.

The workshop starts with lunch at 12:30 in the old stacks area of Osterlin. Betsy will give an overview of basic CPR and AED use, then we’ll practice under her supervision. Please RSVP to the invite on your calendar.

If you are unable to attend this Friday, the college is providing additional CPR-AED training taught by Eric Darling, Fife Lake Fire Chief. Please sign up on NeoEd for these sessions:

  • Friday, October 10, 10:00-11:00am
  • Friday, December 5, 9:00-10:00am

Other important workshops include two sessions of Active Violence Emergency Response Training, also taught by Eric Darling, Fife Lake Fire Chief. The AVERT program teaches both active shooter response skills and emergency bleeding techniques. Please sign up on NeoEd for these sessions:
