Want to go to the T.C. Lilly Conference on Oct. 13-15? Please sign up now! We need a count by Sept. 20.
NMC gets a discount on conference registration, so please sign up through CIE using this link: LILLY CONFERENCE SIGN-UP. CIE pays for the conference for full-time and adjunct faculty. You can go to the whole event or attend sessions around your teaching schedule.
CIE is a big booster of the Lilly Conference, but why wouldn’t we be excited about a national conference on teaching and learning right here in our backyard! The conference will be held face-to-face on Oct. 13-15 at the Park Place Conference Center in Traverse City.
This year is extra special because Lilly director Todd Zakrajsek will be the keynote speaker at the NMC Fall Conference on Oct. 11. If you are inspired by Todd’s talk and workshops — and you will be! — you can get more like it at the Lilly Conference. Here’s a link to the schedule.
The Lilly Conference aims to provide higher ed instructors with inspiration, proven techniques, and a community spirit, all in the interest of advancing student learning. There are several Lilly Conferences held around the country each year; at the TC conference, you can expect to meet college and university instructors from across the region. (Note: The founding organization was funded by a grant from Eli Lilly and Company. Although there is no longer any connection, they’ve kept the name.)
Can’t make the conference this year? You can still keep up with the teaching and learning vibe by following The Scholarly Teacher blog, affiliated with The Lilly Conferences. The blog has great tips for face-to-face and online teaching.
