• Don’t scan in notes, articles, example text, etc. Scans are treated like images and cannot be read by assistive technology.
• Type up hand written notes.
• Provide a link to information/articles when possible.
• If using a piece of text from an email or letter, retype the information into your document, again, don’t place it in as a scan or an image.

Choosing Textbooks

• Decide on which textbook and instructional materials you are going to use early! This allows time for any conversions into alternative formats to be done. This process can take from 2-4 weeks to complete. By ordering early students can be ready to go at semester start.
• Choose textbooks and materials that have accessible electronic versions available.
