Supporting Native American students in their academic journey requires a thoughtful, culturally responsive approach that acknowledges their unique backgrounds, challenges, and strengths, states Nathan Bootz, our Native American Student Success Coach. CIE is pleased to welcome Nathan to our November Coffee Club to discuss how faculty can better support our Native American population.  

“To ensure these students thrive, it’s crucial to implement strategies that are grounded in respect for their culture, provide tailored academic support, and build strong, supportive relationships,” Bootz says. “These are some of the goals that I’ve been working on for our Indigenous students.”

We will also learn more about the upcoming Native American Heritage Celebration.
