Calling all Experiential Learning Champions!  We are looking for faculty and staff to submit work samples, artifacts, pictures and/or videos of learning from the Fall 21 or Spring 22 semesters for the NMC Experiential Learning Institute Learning Symposium to be held May 2-5.

The ELI will be making a PowerPoint slideshow presentation to run on monitors in West Hall that week of the symposium (it will also be posted on the NMC ELI webpage).  If you could provide some pictures with details and some videos of learning from your courses that would be helpful.  We want to showcase all the amazing work you have been doing this past year.  You can email those directly to Tracy Welch (twelch@nmc.edu).

When you send pictures or work samples, we can have them printed up and put on trifold boards or poster boards to be displayed in West Hall that week as well.  If you have students that would like to make a display board of their learning, we’d love to include those too!

If you’d like to get more involved with the ELI Learning Symposium, you could participate in:
  • Informational Table Display with Students in West Hall
May 4 from 1pm-3pm and/or *May 5 from 11am-1pm
In the West Hall Lobby, we will have Table Displays with Informal Discussions around coursework/projects.  It could be samples/materials/artifacts with a few students to share their experiences in your course around a project or specific area. *Consider providing extra credit to students who come to share their experiences/reflections.
  • Formal Class Presentations (please email me details on date/time)
  • Online Class Presentations (please email me details on date/time and zoom link)
We understand this is a busy time of year and we would like to remove any barriers for faculty and staff to participate in the 1st Annual NMC ELI Learning Symposium.  We can assist you with printing, putting together displays, and other needs.  At the very least, we’d like you to share pictures and videos for the PowerPoint slideshow.

*We will also be hosting some “Drop-In” Zoom Sessions for those who have questions.  If you’d like to be invited via Google Calendar, please email Tracy Welch (twelch@nmc.edu) and she will provide the schedule.  You are also welcome to swing by the ELI Office in West Hall 103 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to discuss ideas/materials for the symposium.
