Thank you to Kristen Salathiel for previewing the ETOM (Educational Technology Organization of Michigan) annual conference in a previous post about PD opportunities. Now that the sessions are scheduled and registration is open, I am here to promote the conference once again, not just as your colleague but as a member of the Executive Board of ETOM. The organization is a collective of many of our sister schools across the state, bringing years of teaching and technology experience together to provide professional development for instructors. Since the pandemic pivot began in March, ETOM has trained over 300 faculty across the state as part of its Online Teaching Certificate Program.

This year, the conference is FREE to all ETOM members (NMC is a member) and we are fortunate to have Dr. Norm Vaughn, from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, as the opening keynote. Dr. Vaughn is an educator and researcher in the areas of blended learning, faculty development, and K-12 education. In addition to Dr. Vaughn’s keynote, there are great breakout sessions planned for the rest of the day presented by instructors from across the state of Michigan.
