A recent article in Inside Higher Ed made this proposal: Co-Intelligence book cover

“From now on, all attendees of any AI higher education–focused conversation, meeting, conference or discussion must first have read Ethan Mollick’s (short) book Co-Intelligence: Living and Working With AI.”

That sounded good to us at CIE, so we have ordered copies of Mollick’s Co-Intelligence for all full-time and adjunct faculty. Please read or listen before our August PD.

Mollick, an associate professor of innovation and entrepreneurship at the Wharton School, discusses the impact of AI on education and the workforce. In only 230 pages, he also covers what AI is, how it works, how to use it, and what the future may hold. The Libby app calls the book “wide-ranging, hugely thought provoking, optimistic, and lucid.”

You can listen to Co-Intelligence: Living and Working With AI on the free Libby app available through the NMC library. Hardcover copies of the book will be available at CIE events and in the Ed Tech offices in the basement of the Innovation Center. Books for staff will be available separately.

Co-Intelligence: Living and Working With AI will help you prepare for our August PD session. While the details of the August program are still being developed, we will address what all faculty and students need to know about AI and learning.

August PD will be on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 12-3:30 in Osterlin. We start with lunch in the old library area, then head upstairs for sessions. Watch for a calendar invite coming soon.
