Plants SproutingThe annual Liberal Arts Network for Development Conference (LAND) for Michigan community college faculty and staff will take place in Muskegon Feb. 15-17.  As well as being the most affordable conference in world history, LAND offers attendees an opportunity to learn about what’s happening on other campuses across the state.

The conference opens Wednesday evening with a meet-and-greet gathering. On Thursday, the agenda includes three rounds of lightening talks, an awards luncheon, a panel discussion of the Guided Pathways Initiative, and an optional offsite dinner.  Friday, choose between a Creative Writing Workshop and a Higher Learning Commission Presentation. These concurrent sessions are followed by Student Scholar lightening talks.

If you are interested in attending, please fill out the travel request form by Feb. 3 and submit it to your area chair. Once approved, you can register for the conference. You should register by Feb. 10. If you have any questions, contact Nancy Parshall at nparshall@nmc.edu or 995-1181.
