The Center for Instructional Excellence and the Professional Development Institute are pleased to share our program for October Conference 2024, “Creating a Caring and Connected Community.”
Keynote speaker Dr. Javon Brame, Senior Director of Client Success at CampusWorks, kicks off the Oct. 15 conference that features 28 sessions on everything from neurodiversity and DEIB to civil conversation and mental health. Dr. Brame, who served as Associate Vice President and Dean of Students at Arapahoe Community College in Colorado, will lead two sessions. Here’s the link to the schedule and to the session summaries.
We are especially fortunate to have a number of community members joining us as panelists and presenters this year, connecting us to the caring community beyond our campus boundaries. As always, we appreciate the many staff and faculty members who have stepped up to present.
The day begins at 8 a.m. with coffee and donuts in the Dennos Museum and an 8:30 a.m. program in the Milliken Auditorium. Individual presentations will be held in classrooms across the main campus. Lunch is provided in the Innovation Center at noon and snacks at 3:05 p.m. The third annual faculty vs. staff kickball game begins at 3:45 p.m. at the athletic fields between East and North Halls.
Adjunct faculty are invited to join us and will be paid for their time. Supplemental staff should check with their supervisor about attendance.
