At the conclusion of the fall semester, NMC students were surveyed about their experiences with Canvas as part of the college’s technology use survey. The results were overwhelmingly positive, highlighting strong early adoption of the college’s new learning management system.
Of the 224 students who responded, 70% reported being either Very Satisfied or Satisfied with Canvas, while only 8% indicated they were Dissatisfied or Very Dissatisfied. Usage data further underscores this positive reception: 91% of respondents reported accessing Canvas daily, and 33% said they use it more than five times per day. Taken together, the high satisfaction rates alongside frequent use are particularly noteworthy given that fall 2025 marked NMC’s first official semester using Canvas. Education Technology anticipates these numbers will continue to rise as both students and faculty become increasingly familiar with the platform.

Together, these strong usage rates demonstrate how quickly Canvas has become embedded within the NMC learning community. As the college begins the spring semester—its second as a “Canvas Campus”—we expect to see even greater instructional use and continued positive outcomes for both students and faculty.
