What you need to know for ending/starting a semester.

""IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to Opening Conference and our support at Professional Development Day, EMT may not be available on Monday, January 6 to address helpdesk tickets by you or your students. Assistance may not be provided until Tuesday, January 7.

It’s all in the details; here are a few of the most common questions we receive at the end of and the start of a semester.

When are grades due?

Grades are due by noon on December 18 by 11:00 a.m.

I have incompletes and need my course left open, what do I do?

Put a helpdesk ticket in with the course name and CRN that you need left open due to an incomplete.

When will online courses open to students?

Spring online courses will be open on Sunday, January 5, 2014.

Do I have to have all my material available on January 5th?

You should have a message letting students know they are in the right place and your contact information. A “best practice” to consider would be to have the syllabus, course schedule, and any course orientation materials open as well.

How do I get previous material transferred into my current course shell?

Put a helpdesk ticket in with your request. Make sure you let us know course name and CRN of the course that contains the material and the same for the course you want the material imported into.

I teach several sections of the same course, can I manage these all under one course shell?

Yes. You would need to put in a helpdesk ticket requesting a META course shell. Be sure to fill out the form, it will ask you for the CRN numbers for all your sections as well as for the course where you want the material to be pulled from.
