The first What’s on Your Desk? of the 24/25 academic year features Scott Goethals, the chair of NMC’s Business Academic Area. Scott’s history at NMC goes all the way back to the radical 1980s. He earned an Associates Degree at NMC in ’86 and went on to earn multiple degrees from Ferris State University before returning NMC in 2000 to be an instructor for both the Business division and at the AeroPark campus, which at the time was known as MTEC. His office is located on the first level of the James Beckett building (JB124) and his interests are various and sundry. His office features a mini tech museum, an antique bottle collection, some nostalgic Superman relics from Scott’s youth, and even an NMC wine bottle. Check it out!
Scott’s quite proud of his collection and I have to say, some of his stuff is pretty darn cool. I want that wine bottle. Stop by and say to Scott sometime or let him know what you think about his things by commenting on this post. If you know someone who would be perfect for What’s on Your Desk? or if you’d like me to stop by your space please let me know!
What an awesome desk and office! I know where that “I Am a Teacher” poster came from! Karen Howie (CIE founder) used to give them to every new teacher when they started full time. I have one somewhere too!
