New features include expanded options on the Date Report and visual improvements in the Student view of the Gradebook. Slight changes include how you turn courses on, the location of the Reports, Editing tools, and selecting settings in Assignments.

How do you turn courses on?

Drop down the Visible setting and select Show.

Turning your course on, or making it “visible”, for students is a little different. Click on the link below for a quick tutorial on how to make your course “visible”.

Where are the Reports?

Find Reports in the Settings Block.The Reports have moved from the Navigation block to the Settings block.

We are happy to report that you can now update all the assignment dates from the Dates report, including:

  • Allow submissions from.
  • Due date.
  • Cut-off date.
  • Allow access from and until.
  • Expect completed on.

What is up with those assignments?

Options inside of items are shown in a collapsed format.  You can expand all by using the Expand all button, or you can select settings individually by expanding items one at a time.

 When adding an assignment into Moodle  the submission types are available by check boxes in a horizontal line.

Any changes to the forums?

In the Q and A forum you do not have to post the first question, Moodle will now use your directions as the initial post.

How about the Gradebook?

The User Report, or the student view, of the Gradebook has been visually enhanced.  You can control what your students see on the report.  You can select to show or not show rank, percentage, grades, feedback, weightings, average, letter grades, and ranges.

 Missing Spell Check?

When using a text editor you may notice that the spell check button is no longer available.  Instead, your spelling errors will highlight as you type them.  To correct spelling:

  • Click on the word.
  • Select Ctrl and hold on your keyboard and right click with your mouse.
