Earlier this month, Mark DeLonge, Eric Carlson and Janet Lively attended the ETOM Spring Retreat – The NEW Digital Literacy event held at the Perry Hotel in Petoskey. NMC has an institutional membership in the Educational Technology Organization of Michigan (ETOM). In fact, our own Ben Post is the current Treasurer of the organization and Terri Gustafson is a former ETOM President. Here’s what Mark had to say about the experience (on behalf of Eric and Janet).

Do you have any big takeaways that you’ll be applying to your pedagogy in the near future?
A speaker from Mott CC spoke about the digital divide and how AI knowhow and ability is another new facet of the digital divide. Ryan Bernstein and this presenter both shared the same idea of having AI be a Gen Ed Outcome. This idea seems like something we should be exploring at NMC.
