Michigan Academic Literacy Learning Community: Using Reading Apprenticeship
Michigan Center for Student Success is excited to partner with Reading Apprenticeship at West Ed this fall to present a series of virtual workshops focused on using Reading Apprenticeship as a framework. This document includes more information about content, dates and materials.
Workshop participants will discover how to help students engage their prior knowledge to understand and organize information within a conceptual framework. Faculty who complete all four workshops will have the opportunity to plan, execute and reflect on text-based lessons that engage students in metacognitive inquiry.
Sessions will take place on Friday afternoons beginning September 27 from 3:00-5:00 using Zoom. The workshops are open to full-time and adjunct faculty from any discipline. There is no cost to enroll. Registration is available now through September 26 and is limited to the first 24 participants.
