At a conference a few years ago, a presenter said something that really stuck with me: the person who does the work does the learning. That really got me thinking. I sure know that when I work hard to prepare to teach something new, I learn a ton. So of course it makes sense that when students work hard, they really learn too. How can we encourage students to take ownership of their learning? What strategies can we implement to be sure that the students are doing the work of the course and therefore doing the most learning? Come to this month’s Friday Forum and discuss and learn new ways to create a classroom that is truly learner-centered.
